ST. ANDREWS SCHOOL

Our weekday preschool begins with our Parent's Morning Out classes. These classes meet two mornings a week: Tuesday/Thursday for babies 5 months to a year and Wednesday/Friday for toddlers ages 1 to 2. Classes meet from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Children may bring their lunch and stay until 1:00 p.m. for an extra fee.

Our regular classes begin at age 2 and go through Kindergarten. Two year classes meet Monday, Wednesday, Friday or Tuesday and Thursday. Three and Four year classes meet five days a week.

Classes are from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. and children may bring their lunch and stay for Sandwich Set until 1:00 p.m. for an extra fee.

Kindergarten is all five days of the week from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. and lunch is included in their day. The children may bring their own lunch or buy a hot school lunch. Menus are sent home monthly.

Our preschool classes use Pinnacle curriculum. Our Pre-K classes are also sure to cover the curriculum used by the Georgia Pre-K program. Kindergarten curriculum is based on the Dekalb and Gwinnett Schools Kindergarten curriculum. Creative movement/music is taught four days a week in twenty minute segments. Spanish is taught once a week to all threes through Kindergarten. Most of our classes have two teachers per class.

Extended Care

Extended Care is designed for working parents. To be eligible for Extended Care the child must be 3 years old by September 1 and be potty trained. We are not licensed for diapers. Children may arrive as early as 7:00 a.m. At 9:00 a.m. the children go to their preschool classes. They are given a morning and afternoon snack as well as a hot lunch. At 12:00 p.m. the children go back to their Extended Care class (1:00 p.m. for Kindergarten). They eat lunch and have a rest time. After rest and snack, they play, do art and puzzles. Outside time is enjoyed weather permitting. Children may be picked up until 6:00 p.m.

After-School Program

After-School is also designed for working parents. We pick up from three area schools ~ Evansdale, Livsey and Midvale. The children are here approximately from 2:30 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. They are divided by grade levels. After snack, they have time to complete their homework, play outside and go to the Art or Game room.

On public school Teacher Workdays, we have all-days for the After-School children. These may include a Field Trip. On these days children bring their lunch, including a drink. We have approximately 50 spots available for After-School.

Summer Camp

Summer Camp is offered first to After-School children, then to the public. The camp usually runs from June until the end of the first week of August. Hours are from 7:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. For an extra fee the children can stay until 6:00 p.m. Each week has a different theme. There are Field Trips and they go swimming two times a week. Lunch is brought by the campers including drinks. Some Fridays they can buy pizza slices. Sign up for camp is by the week so you can plan your vacations. Sign up for the weeks you want is done at the beginning of camp in June.
