Construction Updates
The
following update has been published by the contractor, Garrard
Construction Co., for the progress
as of August 9th:

The Sprinkler installation begins
Monday, August 9th. The following is the
schedule for the installation in the Fellowship Hall. This has been worked
out to avoid conflicts with the Sunday morning worship.

The baffles on the
kitchen side of the hall will be removed Monday, August 9th. The
sprinkler piping will take two to three days. While the work is being done
the baffle chains will be lengthen to 18 inches. The baffles will be
reinstalled Thursday and Friday Aug 12th and 13th.
Monday, August 16th the baffles will be removed on the north half
of the hall. Again, while these baffles are down the chains will be added.
Work will continue this week thru the 20th. Worship on Sunday the
22nd may be without half of the baffles. When this half is
completed the baffles will be reinstalled and work will start in the rest of
the building.

During the week of
August 9th thru 13th, the preschool may need to work
with the contractor regarding preparing lunch in the kitchen. The sprinkler
piping will be installed in the kitchen during this week.

The Narthex is ready for roofing, which will be
completed over the next two weeks. The gas line in the mechanical room has
been relocated. The Youth wing was signed off by DeKalb County and the HVAC
rough in has begun. By August 20th, the stonework will begin and the
insulation and sheetrock will start being installed in the Youth wing.
